Aaron Steinert
General Manager I Co-Founder
Aaron is a professional Geologist who has extensive mining, quarrying and exploration management experience throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Northern Territory and South Australia. Commodities include gold, copper, tin/tungsten and coal.
Aaron has exceptional communication, interpersonal and people management skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

David Peff
Managing Director I Co-Founder
David is a safety professional and SSE with a strong focus on exploration in Coal and Minerals. David has performed SSE duties for a number of Australia’s leading exploration companies and is able to design and implement fit-for-purpose Safety Systems.
David also performs job observations and facilitates risk assessments for exploration activity.
Byron Froneman
Operations Manager
Byron is a mining and project management professional with a strong focus on finance, operational systems and AI integration. With an MBA specialising in finance, he brings Superintendent and Project Management experience across South Africa and Australia, including extensive work on open cut coal operations in the Bowen Basin with BMA.
Byron combines commercial insight with practical operational expertise, enabling him to embed effective operating models that drive performance and efficiency. His forward-thinking approach to leveraging AI positions SSE Co at the forefront of continuous improvement in the mining sector
Damian Roe
Non-Executive Director
Damian has been a Non-Executive Director of SSE Co since October 2022. Damian is a Partner in HopgoodGanim Lawyer’s leading Resources and Energy practice. Offering commercial advice and high-quality negotiation skills, Damian’s extensive knowledge includes resources, energy and environmental approval regulations, land access issues for mining, oil and gas and renewable project and native title and cultural heritage law. Damian is the current President of the Queensland branch of the Energy and Resources Law Association (formerly AMPLA) and a member of the Queensland Advisory Committee of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC).
Neil Reynoldson
SSE I Business Development Lead
With a diverse career that started in coal mining in 1986, Neil brings over three decades of technical, supervisory, and management expertise across owner and contractor operations.
As a former Queensland Mines Inspector for 3 years, Neil has also been a Site Senior Executive (SSE) for over 23 years and is highly regarded in the Queensland mining industry for his professionalism, passion, and ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organisation.
Darren Walker
Site Senior Executive
Darren is a Senior Executive and Non-Executive Director with over 20 years of industry experience in technical, management, statutory, executive and board level roles within multinational ASX listed and private resource development companies. Darren is on the Board of a private exploration company with critical metals projects in North Queensland while also sitting on two peak industry organisations representing the mining and exploration industry in Queensland and Nationally - the Association of Mining & Exploration Companies (AMEC) and Queensland Resources Council (QRC).
Darren King
Mine Manager I SSE I OCE
Darren has 32 years’ experience in the quarrying, construction & mining industries (base metals & coal). Darren has industry experience working as an SSE contractor, owner operator and as the Principal Representative managing contract mining operations. This includes ensuring compliance with corporate policies, the site Safety & Health Management System and the Qld Coal Mining Legislation.
John Miller
Underground Mine Manager I SSE
John holds extensive experience within operations and management, both in open-pit and underground mines. With a strong technical background and well-established knowledge in the mining industry, John has been successful in overseeing all aspects of mining operations across multiple mine sites. He holds knowledge, understanding and experience engaging with community, environment, and government.
Jemma Dingle
SSE
Jemma is a tertiary qualified safety professional experienced in leading people in both an office setting and within mining and exploration projects. Jemma’s previous career and educational experience have allowed her to expand on her ability to build and maintain safety systems, coordinate the onboarding process for clients, conduct high level accident investigations, provide expert advice in line with current legislation and best practice.
Brent Delany
SSE I Co-Founder
Brent is a Geologist and SSE with over 25 years’ experience in exploration, geology, geotechnical and operations management for the coal and construction sectors. Brent has been involved in coal exploration project management for BHP Billiton, CS Energy and Stanmore Coal. Brent specialises in the planning of coal exploration programs including managing site access and contractors, ensuring contractual obligations are met by all subcontractors and making technical decisions relevant to the investigation.
Matthew Page
SSE I Business Development Lead
Matthew brings over 25 years of operational, technical and leadership experience spanning across mine management, statutory compliance, risk assurance, operational performance and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects. Having served as a Queensland Board of Examiners panellist and held senior statutory and management roles, Matthew combines deep industry knowledge with practical, outcomes-focused expertise. Matthew partners with clients to strengthen mine safety and operational excellence, develop robust risk management strategies, and ensure statutory and regulatory compliance across complex mining environments.
Peta Miller
Administration Officer
Peta brings over 25 years of corporate services and administration experience to SSE Co, supporting executive leadership and operational delivery across professional services environments.
She specialises in executive support, office management, stakeholder coordination and document control, with experience supporting dispersed teams across Australia. Peta is proficient across CRM platforms (HubSpot), SharePoint and Microsoft Office, and contributes to proposal preparation, client communications and marketing coordination.
Joel Summers
Senior Safety Advisor I Lead Auditor
With a Master of Health Science in Risk Management and extensive frontline and leadership experience, Joel has developed a reputation for building practical, effective safety systems and providing trusted advice to complex operations. His background spans system development and auditing, contractor management, incident investigations, and WHS training and facilitation. Joel’s focus will be on delivering professional, evidence-based WHS support services that strengthen our clients’ Safety and Health Management Systems and embed sustainable risk management practices across projects.
